Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care as a Peds-RRT in various clinical areas, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines.
Administer respiratory and cardiology modalities as applicable.
Maintain patient records/documentation.
Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories; evaluate equipment for proper function and report malfunctions to director.
Perform arterial puncture and analyze samples according to procedure guidelines.
Collaborate with co-workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care.
Respond to emergent situations requiring respiratory support.
Qualifications
1 year of recent acute care experience as a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (Peds-RRT) or equivalent.
NBRC-RRT, BLS, and ACLS required. PALS and NRP may be required in some areas.
Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods; able to lift 20 pounds; may be required to lift up to 50 pounds when moving or lifting patients.
Additional requirements
Experience: 2+ years of experience; NICU/PICU experience and adult experience preferred. Experience with Oscillator 3100 Sensormatic and Drager ventilators is helpful.
Certifications: NBRC-RRT, BLS, and ACLS required. PALS and NRP may be required in some areas.
