Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a variety of clinical areas, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines.
Administer a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities to patients.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, and maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories; evaluate equipment for proper and safe function and report malfunctions to the director.
Perform arterial puncture and analyze samples according to procedure guidelines.
Interact with co‑workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patients being treated.
Respond to emergent situations that may require respiratory support.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
Certifications: NBRC‑RRT, BLS, ACLS. PALS and NRP may be required for some areas.
Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
Experience: at least 2 years of experience in a related role.
Physical Demands
Peds‑RRTs must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty, and lift up to 20 pounds easily. Moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
Pay & Benefits
Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
