Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to patients in a variety of clinical areas, including evaluations and treatments according to procedural guidelines.
Administer to patients a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities.
Maintain appropriate patient records/documentation.
Clean, disinfect, assemble, calibrate, maintain respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories. Evaluate equipment for proper and safe function. Report malfunctions to director.
Perform arterial puncture and analyze sample according to procedure guidelines.
Interact with co‑workers, nurses, physicians, other hospital personnel to optimize continuum of care for patient being treated.
Respond to emergent situations that could require respiratory support.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean or stoop without difficulty, and easily lift 20 pounds; lifting of patients up to 50 pounds at times may be required. Must have specific vision abilities (close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus).
Qualifications
Must have 1 year of recent acute care experience. Must hold BLS, ACLS. PALS and NRP may be required in some areas. NBRC certification required. Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
