Title: Assistant Controller

Salary: $125,000 – $140,000 + Bonus

Location: Northern VA

Key Responsibilities:

Own monthly close and financial reporting across multiple client engagements

Oversee full-cycle accounting (AP, AR, GL, cash management)

Manage and review work of accounting staff (billing, AP, GL teams)

Support and coordinate external audits (financial, bank, 401k)

Ensure compliance with GAAP and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)

Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting policies

Analyze financial data and provide insights to clients

Troubleshoot and resolve accounting and reporting issues

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

8–10+ years of Deltek Costpoint experience

Experience in government contracting (GovCon) accounting

Strong background in financial reporting, audits, and full-cycle accounting

Experience overseeing accounting functions and staff

US Citizenship required due to government contracting requirements

Stable work history (no frequent short-term roles)

Preferred (Nice to Have):

Experience supporting multiple clients or entities

Background in consulting or outsourced accounting environments

Experience with QuickBooks, JAMIS, or Unanet

Experience with internal controls and compliance environments
