Shipping & Receiving Lead | Wayland, MI
Salary Range:
$48,000 - $71,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Wayland that are seeking skilled Shipping & Receiving Leads. Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Lead and train a team of shipping and receiving associates.
Coordinate with production, sales, and logistics to meet shipping deadlines.
Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts.
Implement and enforce safety protocols and company policies within the department.
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and proficiently.
Troubleshoot and resolve shipping and receiving discrepancies.
Recommended Qualifications
5+ years experience in shipping/receiving, with 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
Proven ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, with valid certification.
Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and best practices (e.g., FIFO, LIFO).
Demonstrated experience with ERP systems for shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a focus on team collaboration and safety.
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with ERP systems beyond basic data entry (e.g., configuring workflows, report generation).
Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification or demonstrated experience applying continuous improvement methodologies in a warehouse setting.
Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., advanced Excel, Power BI) for inventory optimization and performance tracking.
Experience with vendor management and negotiation for shipping supplies or services.
