Job Description
We are hiring a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager and works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable). Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. The specialist will follow SOPs and coordinate with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs on medical or technical issues. They will support vaccination programs, manage employee incidents, and may act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.

Responsibilities

Determine donor eligibility: manage informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).

Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies.

Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary for medical or technical issues.

Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.

Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required.

Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, preferably a recognized nursing program with state requirements.

State licensed or certified EMT‑Paramedic.

Current CPR and AED certification.

Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.

Complete FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Minimum of two years clinical or hospital experience.

Compensation & Benefits
Hourly wage range: $25.60 - $35.20 (U.S. wages). Salary depends on qualifications, experience, and location. Eligible for short‑term incentives, medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, disability and life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, sick leave up to 80 hours, and paid vacation up to 120 hours for new hires.
