Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse)
This role supports plasma center operations, managing donor eligibility, adverse events, laboratory test results, and donor notifications. The position works under the guidance of the Center Manager and Physician, follows SOPs, and supports safety protocols, vaccination programs, incident management, and pandemic coordination when authorized.

Responsibilities

Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).

Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOP, including development of Center Physician standing orders and transport to emergency care.

Refer unacceptable findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance concerning medical or technical issues.

Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.

Manage employee incidents and determine the need for further evaluation by occupational health, referring to EHS guidance.

Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent or graduate-level nursing program with state requirements.

Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities are assigned: EMT/Paramedic.

Current CPR and AED certification.

Completion of state requirements for basic IV therapy.

Successful completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation and Benefits
Hourly wage range varies by qualifications and location; short‑term incentives may be available. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time, and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.

Sign‑On Bonus
$1,500 signing bonus.
