Job Overview
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda. Responsible for donor eligibility, adverse event management, laboratory result review, and support of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) and vaccination programs.
Responsibilities
Determine donor eligibility: informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
Manage donor adverse events and evaluate reactions in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Follow medical emergency protocols, coordinate patient transport to emergency care facilities, and assist in developing Center Physician standing orders.
Refer findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for further medical or technical guidance.
Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
Manage employee incidents, determine need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER, and reference EHS guidance.
Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate credential from a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
Currently licensed or certified as an LPN or LVN in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
Current CPR and AED certification.
Fulfill state licensure requirements for basic IV therapy.
Complete FDA‑approved training for the BioLife Medical Support Specialist role.
Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly wage range (U.S.): $24.32‑$33.44. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, and location.
