Summary of Job Duties
The purpose of this position is to monitor and care for patients during the collection of HPC and during therapeutic plasma exchanges, TP, Photopheresis, white blood cell reduction, and platelet reduction. The UAMS Apheresis Clinic is the only one of its kind in the state of Arkansas and focuses on improving patient outcomes by performing advanced apheresis techniques, research, and educating students and residents.
Responsibilities
Collect and document assessment data.
Develop and implement a Plan of Care (POC) per standard.
Evaluate patient progress toward desired outcomes.
Provide effective patient/family education and discharge planning.
Administer medication and provide drug information to patients/families.
Act as a resource and support for other team members.
Deliver patient care using the principles of the defined nursing modality.
Delegate care based on UAMS standards and legal requirements.
Contribute to a positive work environment and serve as a resource for student nurses and staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate’s Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor’s in Nursing, or Master’s in Nursing.
Valid Arkansas RN License.
Preferred Qualifications:
BSN RN degree.
BLS certification (CPR).
Experience in critical care, myeloma, or dialysis.
Experience with indwelling ports and catheters.
Physical Requirements
Stand, sit, walk, bend, crawl, crouch, kneel, stoop, and reach overhead frequently.
Lift and carry weight up to 25 lbs; push and pull weight up to 25 lbs.
Use hands to touch, handle, or feel frequently.
Talk, hear, and read continuously.
Perform visual tasks requiring color discrimination, depth perception, and near/far visual acuity.
Working Conditions
Physical Environment: Inside medical facility environment. Noise Level: Moderate.
Salary
Commensurate with education and experience.
