65% Of Shoppers Use Social Media To Find The Perfect Gift [INFOGRAPHIC]

How has social media impacted holiday shopping? Crowdtap polled 1,400 male and female shoppers to establish what influences their purchase decisions, and discovered that almost two-thirds (64.8 percent) use platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest to find the perfect gift, and 67 percent went on to purchase an item that they discovered on social media.

Indeed, peer recommendations on Facebook and Twitter drove one quarter (24.8 percent) of purchases – three times that of magazine ads and almost twice the rate of TV commercials. These impact isn’t limited to just online sales, either – 53.9 percent of shoppers use social channels whilst in-store, with two-in-five (38.4 percent) tweeting about best offers and finds.
