Free Weekend Workshops for Teens Who Want to Learn to Code

The Professional Association for Design (AIGA/NY) is providing free digital workshop for teens. The pilot weekend course taught Harlem students the basics of coding, robotics, and graphic design with a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and three workshops: Make a Mobile App, Electronics Prototyping with Little Bits, and Be a Graphic Designer.

Our Inspire/Make Teen Program is a series of free weekend classes for high-school (grades 9-12) students who want to learn how to design and develop digital and electronic media. We’ll cover a breadth of disciplines, including graphic design for digital interfaces, creating apps and content for mobile and tablets, and physical prototyping with electronic components.

The next workshop will be in collaboration with the Brooklyn Library to create iBooks. Keep an eye on AIAGA/NY’s events page if you are in the New York area.
