New Tribune Co. owner, CEO, and total nut Sam Zell took time off from berating his employees to fire one of them. Tribune Interactive president Tim Landon has been replaced (at least on an interim basis) by Mark Sotir, a managing director of Zell's Equity Group Investments. Sotir was the one who performed due diligence on Tribune's online efforts when Zell was kicking the tires, so now we'll all have an answer to the question of whether the geniuses in private equity can do a better job than the newspaper lifers in turning around the industry ...
