While the magazine world hangs out in San Francisco at the American Magazine Conference, just down the coast, the Los Angeles Times is laying off 75. The names are slowly trickling out, one being associate features editor Leo Wolinsky. It's not the first round of cuts at the Left Coast paper, but it is new publisher Eddy Hartenstein's introduction to being the bearer of bad news. Unless the financial situation of the paper turns around (and fast) he'll have to get used to it, quickly...
