What was the top brass at the New York Daily News thinking when they agreed to produce a reality show with Hearst Entertainment for Bravo? Probably that starring in "the West Wing of reality shows," as one executive producer put it, might recast newspaper hacks as reality stars. (That's trading up?) It remains to be seen (and certainly everyone in Mediaville will watch to find out) whether the Daily News can singlehandedly save the cool quotient of journalism. Throwing the real Rush & Malloy on screen isn't likely to spike j-school admissions the way Redford & Hoffman impersonating Woodward ...
