Cargo (And 70+ Staff) Down, Spin Editors Spun

Those of you with long memories may remember the wave of meta-media coverage that broke right about this time two years ago asking which of the men's shopping magazines just about to launch -- Cargo, Vitals, and Sync -- would be winners and which would be losers. As of yesterday, we have our answer: they're all losers. Condé Nast announced that Cargo's May issue would be its last; that editor Ariel Foxman and publisher Lance Ford would leave the company, and that it would try (although perhaps not very hard) to place the 70-80 staffers orphaned by its closing....
