Circulation: 2.2 million Background: Parents has been helping new moms and dads celebrate the joys of parenthood while raising healthy and strong kids since 1926. "We want our readers to feel good about being a parent and not just see it as drudgery," says deputy editor Diane Debrovner. "We certainly acknowledge the challenges involved and help readers handle them, but the tone of the magazine is very optimistic." The magazine debuted its new tagline -- "Healthy kids, happy families" with the September 2010 issue, and the phrase encompasses both Parents' content and attitude. The magazine is primarily a service magazine, and editors deliver what readers initially come to the magazine to get: information about children's health, safety, nutrition, discipline and children's development. However, editors also want to help readers enjoy family life (not escape it), delivering positive stories about keeping a marriage happy and celebrating the holidays. Parents has "a nice balance between the content related to children and content related to being a parent," says Debrovner.... ![]() The How to Pitch series is worth its weight in gold. In just the first month I'd already benefited enough to consider the cost of joining well worth it. -- Gaen MurphreeAvantGuild benefits give you access to:
