Rupert Murdoch and his lieutenants (or "minions," depending on your choice of words) officially take the reins today at Dow Jones with the closing of the deal. So what can we realistically expect from the new sheriff in town? The New York Times may have had the best sneak preview on Wednesday, reporting the death of an entire section ("Marketplace") and the impending firing (by paying them to go away) "of dozens of newsroom staff" balanced by a hiring binge of talent from rival publications and a bulked-up Washington bureau.
