Hey, How'd You Get A Gig Writing For A Good Cause, MeiMei Fox?

MeiMei Fox's most recent job as the expedition writer for Alexandra Cousteau, granddaughter of the famous water explorer Jacques Cousteau, sounds like a dream gig -- and it totally was. Cousteau's passion is water and all of the issues that arise when there's not enough of it or it's polluted, so she launched the 100-day Expedition Blue Planet to raise awareness of water issues, and hired Fox to help document the adventure.
Fox has ghostwritten and edited several books, is nearly finished writing a memoir, teaches yoga, and is a life coach with two master's degrees in psychology. For Fox, the Cousteau project was an opportunity to blend her personal pursuits with her career experiences. After her recent return stateside, Fox spoke with mediabistro.com about the challenges of blogging and podcasting on safari, learning to write documentary scripts while continent-hopping, and how she hopes her work with Expedition Blue Planet will help advocate for environmental change. ...
