Keith Olbermann: Gone. But he departed on his own terms. When the MSNBC anchor announced he was stepping down last Friday, many thought he was fired. As it turns out, the exit settlement had been in the works for some time, and it was only agreed upon that morning. It's been a rocky ride for Olbermann, as he was nearly canned in November after revelations of his political campaign donations rose to the surface. The host took a two-day suspension without pay, instead, but the writing, it seems, was on the wall back then or earlier. The Washington press corps have been noticeably quiet on the matter...
Eric Schmidt, Google's outgoing CEO, wants a television show. One problem: According to unnamed sources, his pilot was terrible... Dan Abrams may move to ABC News as a legal analyst and fill-in anchor at the weekend edition of Good Morning America. He's been with NBC for almost 15 years and runs Abrams Research, which isn't too proud to take a shot or two at itself... Dan Savage may have better luck landing on television as the advice columnist and MTV are reportedly teaming up for a show...
