Monthly unique visitors: 5 million
Frequency: Digital magazine is published four times a year; website is updated daily
Special issues: None
Background: Born into XO Group's trifecta of publications, The Nest is editorially committed to making love, life and cohabitation easier for newlyweds and live-in couples. It launched as a website in 2005, a digital spin-off of The Knot and a predecessor to its sister online outlet The Bump. The brand covers traditional magazine stories using big, beautiful images and all of the fabulous content readers enjoyed in print, just in a digital format, which appeals to the mag's millennial, phone-and-tablet-using audience.
"We focus on how to merge your stuff without killing each other and other newlywed life topics -- food, decor, recipes, sex, relationships," joked style director Alexis Jonnson. "We're publishing more than we have in the past and upped our daily posting of content. I'm also in the process of re-platforming and rebranding The Nest to make it fresher." That's a win-win for devoted readers and freelance writers, who are encouraged to pitch lifestyle stories and service pieces to both the digital mag and its companion website.
