Grim news is likely to spoil this holiday weekend for some Rodale and Newsday employees. Make that "ex-employees." Rodale announced Thursday that it was closing Organic Style, the more environmentally-conscious-than-necessary lifestyle title that had been a pet project of vice chairman Maria Rodale. The company has decided to refocus its energy on recent startups like Best Life and Women's Health instead... Meanwhile, 45 Newsday employees based in Queens and Manhattan will eventually leave the paper one way or another as the Long Island-based paper's New York ambitions collided with the financial shortfalls created ...
