June 23, 2006 Spin editor-in-chief Andy Pemberton's Mexican standoff with the magazine's new owners finally ended this week with his resignation. After weeks of speculation (with Fishbowl NY declaring him a dead man more than three weeks ago) Pemberton leaves the magazine in the hands of executive editor Doug Brod who will, by all accounts, begin steering the magazine back towards its indie roots (i.e. no more Beyoncé covers.)
