This March, we took our media cocktailers to Union Pub in Capitol Hill, a neighborhood replete with Dockers, bowties, and bomb-sniffing dogs. From the looks of things, Union Pub seems to be one of the neighborhood's top destinations for the overeducated and underpaid to inhale the comforting aroma of beer foam.
And now, our first-ever Party Awards:
Jeff Borg wins the Mileage Award for coming all the way from Florida just in time for our party. Really. He came straight from the airport.
The Matching Accessory Award goes to co-hostess Rina for pulling off the most perfectly matched combination ever between shirt and boa.
Robin Weiner wins Best All-Around Guest for spotting me on the metro the day before the party and promising to attend, and then showing up with her friend Dave Singleton, author of Behind Every Great Woman There's a Fabulous Gay Man, which may be the truest book title we have ever heard.
Photographer Chris Anderson said I appeared in too many pictures and actually threatened to cut me off. I win the Camera Hog Award.
