Welcome to The Press List, our weekly newsletter alerting you to upcoming media events worth knowing about. This past weekend, the media mingled with what seemed from the coverage to be equal parts politicians and celebrities at Saturday's White House Correspondents' Dinner and the many related events, but before we dish about what went down in DC, we've got the scoop on the parties, panels, and conferences that you won't want to miss this week.

We'll be celebrating in multiple cities in honor of the upcoming mediabistro Circus June 2 and 3: On Tuesday, mediabistro.com founder Laurel Touby hosts a pre-Circus mixer at New York's Tribeca Cinemas -- get there on time and you might get a glimpse of her famous boa. For all you West Coasters, we're having a party tonight in San Francisco to fete Circus, as well as the launch of our newest blog that'll deliver all the Northern California media news: BayNewser.

We're not the only ones celebrating this week: Two New York-based writers, the Wall Street Journal's Mary Pilon and Consumerist.com weekend editor Carey Greenberg-Berger are throwing a "Combined Birthdaybration" on the Lower East Side this Saturday. Expect most New York blog party fixtures to be in attendance, including Gawker.com video editor Richard Blakeley and man-about-town Peter Feld. While it's a private affair, we bet you can find a way in by scanning Tumblr, Twitter, and Foursquare as the weekend approaches.

Speaking of Twitter, this past weekend's White House Correspondents Dinner had a huge presence there: After sifting through hundreds of Tweets on the subject, it looks like Politico's Jeffrey Ressner was first to designate the weekend full of media events with the hashtag "#nerdprom" on the microblogging site, where it was one of the hottest topics throughout the weekend. Notable sightings included Alaska's first dude Todd Palin, whose surprise appearance at former Hardball producer Tammy Haddad's afternoon pre-game party drew plenty of attention. Fox News host Glenn Beck showed up at dinner in a questionable tux. Celebrities spotted at the event included Twitter aficionado Ashton Kutcher, Mad Men's Jon Hamm, and Chuck Bass himself (Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick). Comedienne Wanda Sykes hosted the festivities, where both she and President Obama drew big laughs from the crowd, although not everyone appreciated their sense of humor.

We'll be back next Monday to forecast which upcoming media events you'll want to know about, along with all that went down at the prior week's hottest happenings. Be sure to check out 'Conferences, Etc.' and 'Beyond New York' for media events beyond the five boroughs in Miami, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., and on the West Coast...
