Welcome to The Press List, our weekly newsletter alerting you to upcoming media events worth knowing about. After a snowy start to March, spring is getting into swing with warmer temperatures and a full lineup of media-related festivities.

Tuesday's shaping up to be the most eventful day this week, with two separate events featuring TV pros talking about the state of the news business: First up, there's mediabistro.com's daylong TVNewser Summit at 92Y Tribeca in downtown Manhattan. There, Fox Business News anchor Alexis Glick and MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski will be among the many experts gathered to discuss the future of television news. That same evening, pundit Bill O'Reilly will addresses the New York Press Club at the Associated Press headquarters on West 33rd Street. Expect things to get interesting if someone on the scene is bold enough to bring up the column O'Reilly wrote last summer in which he declared that the AP "may now be dead as an objective news organization."

Last week, New York's bloggers and assorted new media characters gathered Friday night to mourn the death of Google's Dodgeball service with a farewell party at Bowery Electric. Dodgeball, which allowed users to send their whereabouts to friends on the service via text message, was acquired by Google back in 2005, but the search engine giant announced in mid-January that it would shut the service down amid a series of changes that included the company's first layoffs. Google closed down Dodgeball for good Friday evening, and the diehards who came out to say goodbye included Gawker video editor Richard Blakeley, writer Peter Feld, Fimoculous.com's Rex Sorgatz, URLesque.com blogger Kelly Reeves, RandomNightOut.com photographer Nick McGlynn, and CNet editor Caroline McCarthy. According to Feld's recap, the dubious honor of last message sent went to real estate finance guy Lawrence Lewitinn, with his 11:59pm check-in from the Village Idiot bar. Fitting? We'll let others be the judge of that...

With SXSW Interactive kicking off in Austin this Friday and the online press descending in droves, there's sure to be a slew of spicy coverage to bring you up to speed on next week. We'll be back next Monday to forecast which upcoming media events you'll want to know about, along with all that went down at the prior week's hottest happenings. Be sure to check out 'Conferences, Etc.' and 'Beyond New York' for media events beyond the five boroughs in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Arizona, and Washington, D.C....
