LA Times Buyout Announced Today

Tribune will be announcing a buy-out offer at the Los Angeles Times today, cutting around 70 jobs from the newsroom, leaving 850 staffers. Layoffs could follow, if not enough people take the buyout.

Head graphics/design honcho Joe Hutchinson is departing for Rolling Stone.
