Film Maker Gone Too Far? With Sicko Michael Moore says he wants to influence the outcome of the 2008 election -- but will he mobilize the wrong side? It's easy to, in a film, declare that private insurance should be abolished. It's much, much harder to make those proclamations as a political candidate -- even a lefty one. If the GOP manages to paint all liberals as Michael Moore drones, the filmmaker will have succeeded in influencing the election, indeed.
