Danny Boyle, of "Trainspotting" fame, has his latest -- "Slumdog Millionaire" -- in a tug of war with two studios, Fox Searchlight and Warner Independent Film.

Now, forget that Warner Independent is essentially going out of business. Just allow it to carry the Warner Bros. imprimatur as quality material. At any rate, Warner and Fox will split the minimal budget of the film 50/50.

Who says the big boys can't play nice?

Based on a true story about an impoverished Indian youth who improbably strikes it rich with an appearance on the Subcontinental version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?," the film is slated for screening at the upcoming Toronto fest and has been invited to Telluride Film Fest too.
