Alex Remington: Getting Out of the Newspaper Biz

alexrem.jpg
Here at Netroots Nation we ran into Alex Remington who was an administrative assistant for the editorial page of the Washington Post for three years. He came upon was he describes as a “lack on internal prospects,” citing layoffs and buyouts. He doesn’t consider himself a journalist. He said he was never a reporter, he just wrote reviews and obits as they were needed.

“I talked to former journalists and they said,’Get the hell out,’” Remington told FBLA.

The next goal was the find a job. “I talked to media types, new media types, think tank types – friends of friends,” he explained.

Now he’s working at Campaign for America’s Future. Which sadly enough…is more a future.

Good luck Alex.
