AP Names Brian Hopman As General Manager of Latin American and Spanish Media Markets
Recognizing that Spanish language media is doing a whole lot better than its English counterparts, the Associated Press has hired Brian Hopman to head their newly created general manager of Latin American and Spanish Media Market position. Super pale though he may be, Hopman has been working with Latin America for the AP since 1998 and has managed the company’s Spanish language broadcast companies and digital divisions since 2004.
Said Sue Cross, senior vice president for business development and partner relations, Americas, of Hopman: “Latin America is a dynamic, growing media market with rapid development in mobile and other digital media. Brian’s experience in the region with technology and editorial products will help AP accelerate business, product and service development across all formats.”
Fun fact o’ the day. The AP has had news operations in Latin America since 1917.
