So, Bree, the not-home-schooled, not-16 year old YouTube star is most likely Jessica Rose, a 19-year old wannabe actress from Mount Maunganui, New Zealand.

The guilty parties are Ramesh “Mesh” Flinders, a filmmaker from Marin County, Miles Beckett, a med student turned filmmaker, Grant Steinfeld, a software engineer in San Francisco and Amanda Solomon Goodfried, an assistant at CAA. CAA now reps the trio. Told ya.

Virginia thinks:

Part of the appeal of the series was that the serious-minded, literate Bree offered an unbeatable fantasy: a beautiful girl who techy guys had something in common with.

Richard Rushfield and Clare Hoffman in the LA Times name Greg Goodfried, whose father filed the trademark application, as the catalyst for the project. (And if he’s this guy, he represented RockStar games.) The Times doesn’t say, but FBLA is guessing that he’s married to Amanda, the CAA assistant.

So, we’ve all been part of a big demo reel. FBLA feels used.
