Correction: Elderly Gay Couple Deemed ‘Roommates’ by Sonoma County Were in Allegedly in Abusive Relationship
Sonoma County took an elderly man who had fallen down the stairs and put him in a nursing home separate from his partner of 20 years. That man, Clay Greene died alone in the home. The state then auctioned off the couple’s belongings and the surviving partner sued. Dan Savage picked up the story, as did we. Then according to the county who has no doubt heard from the outraged all over the country, relayed that the guy who ended up in the hospital was being physically abused by his partner of 20 years and the state intervened.
