David Lynch Visits Israel To Talk Spirituality. Journos Want To Talk ‘Mulholland Drive’

David Lynch met with Shimon Peres today to talk Transcendental Meditation (because what the region needs is another religious philosophy). How interested is the Israeli public in Lynch’s quest to bring peace to the region through TM? Well, it took Haaretz journalist Uri Klein exactly one sentence to plow through Lynch’s TM mumbo-jumbo and get to the good stuff: Film making.

Director David Lynch, 61, who is currently visiting Israel, might have preferred to discuss the power of Transcendental Meditation, how it captured his heart and soul, and the worldwide peace that he strives to achieve through it. But his eyes also sparkle when he talks about cinema – he still appears enchanted by the mysteries concealed within his art form.

It’s nice to see that somewhere in the world there are journalists who understand that celebrities are not policy makers.
