Duff McKagan Memoir Makes LA Librarians’ ‘Book of the Year’ List

Need a book to read over your holiday vacation? Or in the spare minutes your Scrooge-boss lets you free between finishing your TPS reports? The librarians at the LA Public Library have put together a list of the best books of 2011. We hadn’t read a single one. We’re not sure if that’s because we’re lazy and pea-brained, or because the list includes GN’R bassist Duff McKagan‘s memoir It’s So Easy: And Other Lies. Guillermo del Toro‘s The Night Eternal is also on there.

Weightier fare like Julian BarnesThe sense of an Ending also made the cut.

Sadly, the longest piece of fiction we’ve been able to get through in the past few months was Mikhail Saltykov‘s How a Muzhik Fed Two Officials. Biting Russian satire in under 10 pages!
