Glendale News-Press Gets New Editor

Last month Mike Schneider of the Franklin Avenue blog took Glendale’s small daily paper to task over it’s failure to report on the death of one of the city’s most famous citizens, Lux Interior- and damn near anything else the residents of Glendale might care about. Today he’s feeling a little more optimistic- he writes:

Now, the News-Press has found a new editor, and he sounds promising.

The paper announced on Tuesday that Dan Evans — most recently the online news editor for the Hollywood Reporter — will take over as editorial director of the News-Press, Burbank Leader, Crescenta Valley Sun and La Canada Valley Sun on April 1.

Evans’ resume also includes stints as a reporter for the now-defunct Our Times weekly newspaper in Ontario, as well as the San Francisco Examiner. He also spent time at the Los Angeles Daily Journal and as a senior investigator for the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission.

We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed.
