Goldwyn Films Rears Its Indie Head With ‘Dark Streets’

darkstreets.jpgSamuel Goldwyn Films, which has been quiet of late, will premiere its latest noirish release, “Dark Streets” starring Bijou Phillips and Elias Koteas, with a stylized hoedown at the ritzy ArcLight Cinemas Wednesday.

As Goldwyn is a true indie — run by the son of the legendary studio producer with the same monicker — the company is always looking for handouts. And they found one with GenArt, which sponsors films for their members in New York, L.A., Chicago and Miami.

With “Dark Streets,” which won the top award at the Chicago Film Festival, Goldwyn secured GenArt’s interest. So if you’re eager to attend, be ready to shell out $40 (that’s the non-member price) and enjoy your Fiji Water.
