Google Stopped Hosting AP Content And No One Noticed

It was Christmas Eve when Google News stopped hosting new AP content, but the press didn’t catch on till a few days ago. Google issued the following statement in response to inquiries:

We have a licensing agreement with the Associated Press that permits us to host its content on Google properties such as Google News. Some of that content is still available today. At the moment we’re not adding new hosted content from the AP.

Stalled negotiations over a new licensing contract is apparently the reason Google isn’t hosting new AP stories. But if new AP stories are being hosted by other sites, they should still show up on Google.
