Kaus: Harcourt ‘Scared to Rock’

Noted pundit/mix-CD-burner Mickey Kaus risks Los Angeles media risks Los Angeles quasi-hipster media-professional pariah-hood by slamming Nic Harcourt in the wake of last weekend’s glowing <em>NYT Magazine profile.

I was going to call Harcourt’s dreary parade of breathy, self-absorbed, suffocating pop “yuppie shopping music,” except that if stores actually played Harcourt’s synapse-numbing choices the economy would grind to a halt!

I’m going to state for the record that I agree with Kaus’s assessment. But is there any good rock progamming on any public radio station in the country? I think that’s what college radio is for.
