Comedian George Wallace Kicks Off ‘Diverse LA’

As a direct result of the recent KFI controversies, Clear Channel sister station KTLK this week added the temporary weekday morning program “Diverse LA.” Monday’s broadcast welcomed stand-up comic George Wallace, while today’s second guest was conservative commentator Joe R. Hicks.

The 9 a.m.-to-noon show is hosted by Morris “Mo” O’Kelly, who cheekily introduced himself at the top of the week as follows:

“This is Diverse LA and I am Morris O’Kelly. Yes, Morris O’Kelly. I’m the black man with the Jewish first name, the Irish last name. I can count to ten in Korean, and if that weren’t enough, I can even pass for white… over the phone. I am a one-man ethnic diversity wrecking crew.”

“Diverse LA” is currently scheduled to run through the end of March. It’s a welcome talk and phone-in addition to the local AM airwaves and a step in the right, diverse direction. As an added bonus, The View‘s Sherri Shepherd called in Monday to express her support of the program.
