USC Grad Boosts Minnesota TV Station’s California Contingent

Alexandria, Minnesota is the birthplace of a couple of familiar HBO faces, Peter Krause (Six Feet Under) and John Hawkes (Deadwood). It is now also the home of LA native and 2010 USC journalism gradĀ Samantha Myles.

Myles has joined the news reporting staff of the central Minnesota town’s ABC TV affiliate KSAX. Prior to making the move, she had been interning at FOX 11 in LA while completing her USC studies.

Although the KSAX news team is relatively small, it boasts a number of other California connections. News director Cristi Jessee came over in 2009 from Sacramento’s KXTV, while 10 p.m. anchorĀ Laurie Stribling is an alum of UC San Diego and KBAK-TV in Bakersfield.

The rest of the KSAX news team consists of 5-6 p.m. anchor Kenny King, reporter-anchor Joe Nelson, and reporter-anchor Emily Reppert. Got get ‘em, Samantha!
