LA Times Suspends Pressroom Employee For Being Good Reporter

Pressman Ed Padgett was suspended from his job this afternoon for blogging about the printing problems that plagued the Los Angeles Times last Thursday and Friday. He is facing possible termination following an investigation by the paper. He writes on his blog:

I was told I had been warned in the past regarding my blogging, but I was only warned about broadcasting circulation numbers and nothing else.

So much for first amendment rights.

More updates as we get them. Padgett has worked at the LA Times for 38 years, and we’ll keep our fingers crossed for 39.
