latimes.com kneels before Blog

There’s been an alarming proliferation of blogs at the Los Angeles Times website over the past week or two. In addition to the Supreme Court blog (which, in relative terms, is practically an elder statesman at this point), there are now blogs about the Lakers, Las Vegas, travel, and a blog version of Michael Hiltzik’s Business column (wherein he makes some relevant comments about the place of blogs in the larger media-business scheme). And today saw the launch of theenvelope.com, billed as ‘the ultimate awards site’, featuring three (!) blogs as well as exclusive feature content about the entertainment industry awards season.

Got all that? Whew. And, uh, bookmark this post, because actually finding these blogs on the LAT website can be a little tricky. FishbowlLA links so you don’t have to.
