Los Angeles Times Needs Employees To Act Happy For Free

The Los Angeles Times is looking for some happy, smiling employees, who aren’t eligible for overtime. Is Tribune is too cheap to hire actors? Staffwide memo from Maria Gitto:

We are looking for 50 enthusiastic employees to be in a crowd scene for a commercial promoting some of our new Los Angeles Times entertainment products. This commercial will run in October in theaters throughout Southern California as well as air on KTLA.


Who are we looking for?

* Exempt employees who work in the downtown office
* People who smile big, yell and get excited
* Moms and Dads
Wardrobe instructions will be provided. On the day of the shoot, a
chartered bus will pick up all participants at The Times downtown
building. A free catered lunch will also be provided.

Date: Wednesday, August 22
Place: Van Nuys Airport (pick up/return at LA Times)
Time: Full day (more details to come on specific timeframe)

Deadline for signup: Friday, August 17, by 3 p.m.
