Former NBC4 managing editor Todd Mokhtari is returning to his old station as the new vice president of news.

Mokhtari is making the jump from KIRO-TV in Seattle, where he served as the news director and web manager.

In 2006, Mokhtari was the managing editor of NBC4 and in charge of the day-to-day coverage and editorial direction of the news department.

“Returning to NBC4 Southern California at this time is a tremendous opportunity,” said Mokhtari in a statement. “The station is moving aggressively to differentiate itself through high-quality enterprise stories, and I am humbled to join NBC4′s highly respected news team in this role.”

Mokhtari will report to president and general manager Steve Carlston.
