After nearly two decades chronicling the digital media revolution for USA Today, David Lieberman has decided to jump to one of its newest purveyors. Beginning April 11th, the veteran business reporter will join Deadline.com as New York based executive editor.

Lieberman, who has also worked for Business Week, TV Guide, the Hartford Courant, and Hartford Advocate, will cover the business side of media for Nikki Finke. He will also continue his work as an adjunct professor at the Fordham University Graduate School of Business. Per the press release:

Said Finke: “I’ve long admired David’s journalism at USA Today, not just because he’s so knowledgeable and well-sourced and accurate, but also because he can explain very complex issues in an engaging and readable way. Ever since I first invited him to breakfast 15 years ago in NYC and we quickly became bicoastal friends, I’ve had this premonition that we’d work together at some point.”

Lieberman will report to Finke on editorial matters and to Mail Media Corp. CEO Jay Penske when it comes to any future strategic initiatives.
