Mario Lavandeira, who makes a good part of his Perez Hilton living ridiculing celebrities, is often caught in the same sort of crossfire. Last fall for example, he placed second on Out magazine’s list of worst dressed gay men, behind Boy George.

Intentionally or not, Hilton added to this wretched reputation when he attended the 45th anniversary bash for The Advocate sporting a Juicy Couture jacket, Longchamp bag, Loudmouth Golf pants and Jeremy Scott shoes. After he shared the photo at right on his site, readers were not amused:

Chrstn7: Sorry Perez but that outfit is a hot mess!! You are trying to be like Lady Gaga by putting on crazy outfits to make a statement but it’s only going to put you on the worst dressed lists.

Thursday’s Advocate bash was quite the party. MC-ed by Ross Matthews, the Beverly Hilton celebration featured performances by Macy Gray and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles.
