Deaf Rapper Mambos with Marlee Matlin

Yesterday, Detroit area rapper Sean Forbes was at West Hollywood’s House of Blues to debut his new video “Let’s Mambo,” as part of a Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness (GLAD) benefit. The video is fully subtitled, fully signed, and features not one but two almost entirely hearing impaired leads: Forbes and Oscar winning Celebrity Apprentice Marlee Matlin.

This very slick production is destined to go viral:

Per a profile on Ferndale Patch, Forbes was minding his own business when he suddenly got contacted by Matlin via Twitter, after she heard a report about the rapper on NPR. The performer’s next vid is called “Deaf, Deaf Girls.” Forbes is also the founder, circa 2007, of the Deaf Professional Artists Network (D-PAN).
