We are the biggest state by population – therefore we have the most members of congress in the House. But, ahem, we don’t have half. And over half had already gone home yesterday missing the last vote of the year – health care for 9/11 responders. Who are some of the cool kids who cut class? Here’s the complete list. But four congresswomen from LA were already home: Maxine Waters, Jane Harman, Loretta Sanchez and Linda Sanchez. Tsk tsk tsk.

When we fell asleep last night – Villaraigosa was headed for a run off. This morning he has another 4 years as mayor to talk about what he wants to do, then how hard it is to do it and then ultimately not get it done.
Exhibit A? Measure B.
Is he now going to run for governor? Ahem, failing up?
There’s also speculation about a run by Orange County Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, who once wanted to hold a fundraiser at the Playboy Mansion, so let’s hope she’s in. I don’t have a crystal ball, but I’d say that one year from now, the odds are 3 to 1 that Villaraigosa will be running against Sanchez and 2 to 1 that he’ll be dating her.
