Thelma and Louise Are Hitting the Road Again
Thelma & Louise: The 20th Anniversary Homecoming – a one-night only live stage reunion featuring 1991 Sony/MGM film co-stars Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon – is scheduled for June 7th … in Toronto. That’s right, way north of the original setting of the film – Oklahoma, Arizona, Texas.
It just doesn’t seem right, even though the Roy Thomson Hall event is linked to a noble local cause:
Presenting sponsor MasterCard Canada is donating “Best of House” tickets to the Women’s College Hospital Foundation to sell exclusively… Funds raised will support the construction of a new, state-of-the-art facility for Women’s College Hospital.
Perhaps more dates will be added; let’s hope so. This past weekend, at the Sonoma International Film Festival, Sarandon reminisced about Thelma & Louise while accepting a Lifetime Achievement Award. She in fact spent some time talking about the movie’s celebrated parking lot rape scene.
