Willie Macc Hit Us Like a Brick

Willie Macc, stand up comic and BET reality show star is set to start filming Cerdric The Entertainer’s directorial debut on Monday, sat down with FBLA for a little exclusive chat.
FBLA: As a stand up, what do you think of comedy and journalism fusing?
WM: Journalism is just piling up information…Hillary was on the Daily Show making jokes and it made her seem more personal. That was a boost for her in Texas and Ohio. Comedy can help a person like that. Politics can be real serious and confuse people. People are confused about things and with comedy, people look at things in a different light.
FBLA: What kind of topics do you cover in your stand up?
WM: Mainly being from the South and living in LA. I already have a funny accent, so I talk about that. I did a show at Compton High School last week and walked up on stage with a brick. I had a brick in my hand. I said, ‘I’ll throw this at-
FBLA: That’s not saying much about Compton High School.
WM: People already think things about Compton, what they’ve heard. I was making fun of that. They liked it. It’s not that bad.
FBLA: Where’d you get the brick?
WM: It was back stage holding a door open.
